Our History

Built in 1964 by Earls Luigi and Niccolò Donà dalle Rose from Venice, Sporting hotel was born as a guesthouse with just 10 rooms to accommodate architects and artists who cooperate to build the village of Porto Rotondo and the tourist harbour of the same name. With over 50 years of history behind it, Hotel Sporting represents, together with the other hotels of Costa Smeralda, the history of tourism in Sardinia and has contributed to create its international fame.

Famous people and prestigious ones of the International Jet Set have chosen it for its sobriety, discretion and confidentiality. Desired features by its founders and defended in its 50-year history by the Ciga Hotels group and then by the Molinas Group which acquired it, together with the Marina, in 1997.
Sporting hotel has been modernized and enlarged in full respect of the original architectural lines that integrate with the surrounding environment, becoming a 54-room Boutique Hotel.
